The health insurance system in Indonesia is currently the largest health insurance manager in the world because the government requires everyone to have insurance managed by the government. The health insurance financing system is also different from other types of products, where third parties are parties that have an obligation to pay and reimburse health care costs after the community completes treatment.
government-managed insurance in the context of national health insurance (JKN) with the National Health Insurance System managed by the Social Security Organizing Agency (BPJS), there are two financing systems in health insurance in Indonesia namely the capitation system and the INA-CBG system (Casemix Indonesia Group )
The capitation system is payment to the first level health facility (FKTP) in this case that health centers, medical practices, and clinics are carried out regularly and have been determined based on the period. Whereas INA-CBGs are payments to advanced health facilities (FKTL) in this case the hospital whose payment is determined based on the diagnosis of the disease and the action taken.
health insurance participation is divided into 2 types, namely Beneficiary Benefit (PBI) and Non-PBI Beneficiary. PBI payments are assisted by the government specifically for the poor. Whereas for NON PBI payments are divided into 3 namely Wage Recipient Workers and their families (Civil Servants, TNI Members, Police Members, State Officials, Non-Civil Servants, Private Employees; Other Workers who receive Wages), Non-Recipient Workers and Families they (Workers outside the employment relationship or self-employed workers, non-wage workers), not workers and family members (Investors, Employers of Pension Recipients, Veterans; Pioneer of Independence; Non-workers who are able to pay contributions).
